Sequel to the directive from the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) mandating all study centres to resume revision classes for the final examinations slated to hold from September 7, 2020 to September 18, 2020, I wish to inform all students of the School of Foundation Studies that they will resume on Monday, August 10, 2020 and the revision classes will hold for a maximum period of three weeks ending on Friday, August 28, 2020. Practical sessions to be held on weekend starting from Saturday, August 15, 2020.

As a result of the ongoing industrial strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which suspended all academic activities on Campus, the School has resolved to relocate students offering science-based subjects to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka while those offering non-science based subjects to School of Radiography, Yaba.

It is imperative to adhere strictly to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines on safe resumption of classes to safeguard all students from contracting COVID-19 which is currently raging around the World. The School of Foundation Studies hereby mandate all students to adhere strictly to safety precautions and guidelines as outlined below:

  1. Students are to come to the venues: Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka (Science and Visual Arts Students) and School of Radiography, Yaba (Non Science Students) for each subject as stated on the attached time-table.
  2. Students are to come with their student Identity cards or evidence of receipt of payment of full fees. Students should ensure that they collect their Identity cards, if not collected, before the commencement of JUPEB examinations.
  3. All students are to come along with their face masks and hand sanitizers. The face masks should be worn at all times within the School premises. No Face Masks and Hand Sanitizers, No Entry !!!
  4. Students should note that their temperature will be taken at the entrance of the classrooms. Any sick student should please stay at home for proper treatment.
  5. Hand washing points will be made available at the entrance of each classroom. Each student should ensure that he/she washes his/her hands before entering the class.
  6. All students are strongly advised to follow instructions of the staff and security operatives at all times
  7. All students should ensure that the guideline of at least one (1) meter space between two people is strictly adhered to. You should also ensure social distancing at all times. No hugging and/or cuddling in the School premises.
  8. All students should maintain decorum and orderliness in their classes
  9. All students should ensure that they maintain good personal hygiene and health safety within the School and outside. No littering or loitering around.
  10. All students must ensure that they fill the attendance sheets during each lecture.

Parents and Guardians will not be permitted to stay in the School waiting for their wards to reduce human presence in the School. Kindly ensure only drop-off and pick up where necessary. It is to be noted that the School has put in place necessary measures to safeguard the lives and the facilities in the School.

More importantly, all students are to take good advantage of the revision classes by paying attention in class and follow up with any assessment given in class. The students are strongly advised to pay the remaining part of their fees if outstanding before the end of the first week of revision classes to avoid being disallowed from sitting for the JUPEB examinations.

While wishing you happy revision classes, please stay safe.

Thank you.
